Connect via the brokerage portal

How to link Wealthsimple, Schwab, tastytrade, Robinhood and most other brokerages to Option Anatomy through the secure portal, in a couple of minutes.

Most brokerages, among them Wealthsimple, Charles Schwab, tastytrade, Robinhood, E*TRADE, Webull and Questrade, connect through SnapTrade, the app's connection infrastructure. You log in through a secure portal on your broker's own page and your holdings start syncing automatically.

Connecting

  1. In Option Anatomy, open Settings → Link brokerage.
  2. Choose “Any other brokerage”. The secure connection portal opens in a new tab.
  3. Pick your broker in the portal, then log in on your broker's own page, so your credentials go to the broker, not to Option Anatomy.
  4. Done. Your positions appear in the app and refresh automatically from then on.

Freshness: what to expect

  • Most institutions sync holdings near-real-time.
  • A few institutions only publish holdings once a day; when that's the case, the app labels the data's freshness honestly instead of pretending it's live.
  • Prices, greeks and unrealized P&L reprice continuously during market hours regardless of the broker's cadence: the position list updates on the broker's schedule, the pricing on the app's.
  • The refresh button forces an immediate pull whenever you don't want to wait.

Several brokers at once

You can connect multiple brokerages and see one merged book. If you hold the same contract at two brokers, quantities sum and the cost basis blends weighted by size, exactly as if the lots sat in one account. Account values are never blended across currencies: a Canadian-dollar account and a US-dollar account show as separate per-currency totals.

To disconnect, use the broker's Disconnect button in Settings. It works instantly, and you can also revoke the connection from your broker's side.

Connecting Interactive Brokers? Use the direct connection instead (Settings → Link brokerage → Interactive Brokers): it refreshes about every 2 minutes, versus once a day through the portal. See “Connect Interactive Brokers (direct)”.
