How your data is handled

What Option Anatomy can see in your brokerage account, what it can never do, what data is stored, and how to revoke access or delete everything you have.

What a connection can do, and what it cannot

Broker connections are read-only by construction, not just by policy. The Interactive Brokers link uses a reporting-only access key that IBKR itself limits to pulling reports, so it cannot place trades, move money or change anything in your account. Portal-based connections are established with read-only scope the same way. The app can see your positions and fills; it cannot act on your account.

Your brokerage password

We never see it. When you link a broker, you log in on the broker's own page or its secure connection portal, so credentials go to them, not to us. What Option Anatomy stores is an encrypted, revocable access token, per account.

What is stored

  • Your positions and fills, as reported by your broker, the raw material for the journal and attribution.
  • Snapshots of your positions' prices and greeks captured during market hours, because attribution needs history to decompose.
  • Your account email and settings.
  • Encrypted broker access tokens.

Market data, meaning prices, implied volatilities and greeks, comes from the app's own market-data feed and pricing engine, independent of your broker.

Revoking access

  • Every connected broker has its own Disconnect button in Settings: one click, effective instantly.
  • You can also revoke from the broker's side: deleting the access key in IBKR Client Portal (or removing the connection in your broker's security settings) cuts the app off immediately.

Deleting your data

Email [email protected] from your account email and we'll remove your data. The Privacy Policy is the authoritative statement of what is collected and how it's used.
