Understand your Trade Journal
What each Trade Journal tab shows, how the journal KPIs are computed, and how to slice your closed trades by strategy, greek driver, weekday or days held.
The Trade Journal is built from your real fills, so there is nothing to log. Closed trades are reconstructed from executions, grouped into the strategies they formed, with commissions included. Four tabs slice the record four ways.
Dashboard
- KPIs for the filtered range: Net P&L, Realized, Commissions, number of trades, Win Rate, Profit Factor, Average Win, Average Loss and Average Duration.
- The closed-trade grid: one row per strategy episode, with open and close times, days-to-expiry at entry, duration, entry and exit implied volatility, the four greek P&L columns (Delta, Gamma, Theta, Vega), Net, Realized, Commissions, the greek total and the Residual. Every column sorts; the search box filters.
- Charts: the equity curve (cumulative P&L with drawdown), daily realized P&L, P&L by weekday, P&L by days-to-expiry bucket, and the P&L distribution histogram.
Greek P&L
The attribution view of your closed trades: totals by Delta, Gamma, Theta and Vega, distribution histograms per greek (in dollars or as a share of the total), and an aggregation table you can group by strategy, days-to-expiry bucket, weekday, month or symbol, each group with its greek totals, win rate, profit factor, average P&L and average duration. This is where you learn what your approach actually monetizes.
Trades and Activity
- Trades: the parent → leg tree. Every strategy episode (open or closed) expands into its individual legs, each with its own realized P&L and commissions.
- Activity: the raw execution feed, every buy and sell with timestamp, contract, quantity, price and fee, filterable by event type and date.
Filters and exports
- Date presets (7D, 30D, 90D, YTD, All) or a custom range; the choice persists between visits.
- Strategy and symbol chips narrow every KPI, chart and grid at once.
- Each view has its own CSV export; the toolbar's CSV button exports closed trades one row per leg, honoring the active filters.
- Partial closes and re-entries are recorded as separate episodes: a scale-out books its realized result when it happens, and re-entering the same strikes later starts a new record.
