Trades & Templates

Save paper trades, reuse templates and review closed results.

Save trades and manage reusable templates

In the Modeler, choose Save template and name the structure. Load it through Add → From Templates. Loading replaces the modeled legs, so check quantities and the mapped contracts.

  1. Open a saved paper trade in the Modeler and make your adjustment. Save as new preserves the original; Overwrite original closes the original at current prices and saves the revised paper trade.
  2. Choose Save template and name the reusable structure. Templates store quantities, time to expiration and delta targets, not permanently fixed contracts.
  3. Load a template through Add → From Templates. It replaces the modeled legs, so check the mapped strikes, expirations and quantities.
  4. In Trades & Templates → Templates, use Edit legs and Save changes to update the structure. Use Rename and Save name to change its name.

Rename a template

Open Trades & Templates → Templates, select the template, choose Rename, enter the new name and select Save name.

Edit saved template legs

Select the template in Trades & Templates and choose Edit legs. Change the type, quantity, target delta or days to expiry, then Save changes. Reopen it in the Modeler to check the mapped result.

Set commissions and close a paper trade

Open Trades & Templates, select the open paper trade and choose its close action. Confirm the legs, then review the closed result and matching journal entry.

  1. In Settings → Paper trading commissions, enter a fixed amount per trade and an amount per contract, then Save commissions. These apply to future fills; earlier fees remain recorded.
  2. In Trades & Templates → Open, select the paper spread and choose Close trade. Review the named spread and confirm.
  3. Find it under Closed and check the net result including opening and closing commissions. Match it in Trade Journal using a date range that contains its closing date.

Set paper-trading commissions

Open Settings and set the fixed fee per trade and fee per contract. Check the resulting commissions when opening or closing a paper trade.
