Yes, and then some. The Position Modeler is a full options profit calculator: build any of 58 structures, drag strikes on a live curve, and read P&L, breakevens, max profit and max loss at any price and date. Unlike a standalone option calculator, it also connects to your broker, so the same engine prices the positions you actually hold and explains every day's P&L by greek.
An options analytics platform built around one question most tools can't answer: WHY did your P&L move? Every position is decomposed into its greek drivers: direction (delta), convexity (gamma), time decay (theta), volatility (vega) and the second-order effects. You can then see whether a trade made money for the reason you put it on, the same attribution institutional desks run on their own books. Around that core: a live positions view connected to your brokerage, a visual strategy modeler with 58 built-in structures, and a trade journal that reconstructs your closed trades from real fills.
Interactive Brokers connects directly, with positions refreshing about every 2 minutes during trading, so a new fill typically shows up within a minute or two. Most other brokerages, among them Wealthsimple, Charles Schwab, tastytrade, Robinhood, E*TRADE, Webull and Questrade, connect through SnapTrade, most of them in near-real-time. A few institutions only publish holdings once a day; when that's the case the app labels the data honestly instead of pretending it's live. You can connect several brokers at once and see one merged book. The full detail on freshness, limitations and step-by-step setup guides lives on the broker connections page.
No, by construction rather than merely by policy. Connections are read-only: the Interactive Brokers link uses a reporting-only key that IBKR itself prevents from trading or transferring anything, and SnapTrade connections are established with read-only scope. The app can see your positions and fills; it cannot act on your account.
Never. When you link a broker you log in on the broker's own page (or SnapTrade's secure portal), so credentials go to them, not to us. What we store is an encrypted, revocable, read-only access token. You can cut off access at any time from Settings, or from your broker's side.
From our own market-data and pricing engine. Live option quotes and implied volatilities feed a local pricing model (Black-Scholes for European-style options, a binomial tree for American-style), so greeks are computed consistently for every position on every broker, rather than trusting whatever numbers each broker chooses to publish. Prices refresh continuously during market hours.
Prices, greeks and unrealized P&L reprice continuously while the market is open, and the page refreshes itself every few seconds and you never need to reload. The position LIST updates automatically on each broker's cadence: about every 2 minutes for Interactive Brokers, near-real-time for most SnapTrade brokers, once daily for the few institutions that only publish start-of-day holdings. The refresh button forces an immediate pull whenever you don't want to wait.
Very accurate for single-leg positions and for spreads whose legs share one expiration: those sit on a single point of the volatility surface, so the greek buckets absorb nearly all of the move and the residual stays near zero. Multi-expiration structures such as calendars and diagonals are harder, because their legs sit on different points of the term structure and move independently, which legitimately leaves more unexplained. Deep in-the-money legs widen it too, and the app flags those groups rather than quietly averaging them away. Every attribution view carries a Residual column, so you can always see how much of the move the split actually accounts for instead of taking it on trust.
"Today's move" needs yesterday's closing marks as a baseline. A newly connected book starts recording the moment you link it, so Daily P&L appears from the second day on, with no action needed. Until then the dash means "no baseline yet", not "something is broken".
The merged book combines them into one position: quantities sum and the cost basis blends weighted by size, exactly as if the lots sat in one account. Account values are never blended across currencies: a Canadian-dollar account and a US-dollar account are shown as separate per-currency totals.
A visual what-if canvas. Load your held positions (or start from a blank slate), then drag strikes on a ruler, add legs from a 58-strategy catalog, and watch the payoff curve, breakevens, probability of profit and greeks recompute instantly. A date slider lets you preview and pin the curve on any date between today and expiry. Simulated legs never touch your real account, because it is a sandbox.
The product is built for options. Stock and cash positions in your account are used where they matter (account values) but aren't displayed as positions yet, and futures/crypto aren't supported. Multi-underlying option books, such as index options sitting next to single-name options, work fully.
Every account* starts with 14 days of Pro, no card required. Pro is $39.00/month billed annually ($468.00/year), or $44.99/month if you prefer to pay month to month; upgrade with at least 48 hours of the trial left and your card is charged on the day the trial ends; with less, it is charged when you upgrade. Checkout shows the date before you pay. If you don't upgrade, your account moves to the Free plan (the Position Modeler in Sim mode, your positions and trades, on delayed data) and nothing you imported is deleted. Nothing is ever charged silently, and you can cancel anytime from Settings.
No. Option Anatomy is an analytics tool: it measures and explains what your positions did and lets you model what they might do. It does not recommend trades, and nothing in the product is investment, legal, or tax advice.
Every connected broker has its own Disconnect button in Settings, so revoking access takes one click and works instantly. To delete your account and its data, use Delete account at the bottom of Settings: we email you a code to confirm.
